Wildlife Rescue is committed to maintaining your privacy as required by the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) and the Privacy Act 1988 (Comm).

Wildlife Rescue will not collect any more information than is necessary for it to fulfill its functions, nor will it disclose your personal information to anyone without your consent unless legally permitted or required to do so or it suspects you may have used the website unlawfully.

Wildlife Rescue will require anyone whom it engages to collect, store or use personal information for it to comply with the information protection principles of both the above Acts.

Wildlife Rescue does not have any responsibility for the privacy policies or practices of third party sites linked to the Wildlife Rescue website.

What information do we collect?

When you look at the pages of our website, our computers may record information that identifies, for each page accessed:
    • the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the machine which has accessed it;
    • your top-level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc.);
    • the address of your server;
    • the date and time of your visit to the site;
    • the pages accessed and documents downloaded;
    • the previous site;
    • the type of browser and operating system you have used.

No attempt is made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may lawfully inspect the service provider’s logs.

Except in the circumstances as set out above, Wildlife Rescue will not disclose or publish information, which identifies individual machines, or potentially identifies sub-groupings of addresses, without consent.

Wildlife Rescue reserves the right to gather more extensive information than stated above in cases of any detected activity which is unauthorised and/or is or may be unlawful.

Email address collection

If you supply an email address we may collect it to keep in our records for the purpose of communicating with you. Supplying the email address is voluntary but if you do not supply it, Wildlife Rescue will not, of course, be able to communicate with you by email.

We only send emails to people who have given consent (expressed or inferred) to receive it. Each electronic correspondence provides clear instructions on how to unsubscribe. Please advise us if you wish to unsubscribe.

Spam

As part of our commitment to maintaining your privacy, we do not condone or encourage spam. In accordance with the Spam Act 2003, we will only send emails with the addressee’s expressed or inferred consent to receive it. All messages will have clear and accurate information about Wildlife Rescue as the sender and will have a functional unsubscribe facility. All requests to unsubscribe will be dealt with promptly.

Complaints concerning our privacy practice
